About Me
- Lifelong Learner
- I am a wife and mother of 2. I have recently decided to work as a teacher, but have work experience in many different fields. I love to save money and try new things. I believe there are no limits to what I can do and enjoy trying new things.
Web 2.0 Applications
Glogster
My experience using Glogster for the first time was fun. I thought it was challenging in the beginning, because there seemed to be so many options; however it was not as scary as I thought. I was able to view the video to help guide me through the dashboard. Glogster was very easy to use and not difficult to maneuver. I found the interface to be very easy to understand and manipulate; although I do see how it can be viewed as not as professional as some interfaces. I do believe that the multiple tool options was a nice advantage. Overall, I do see how using the Glogster platform in conjunction with Blogger creates a nice and easy to use option for students. It would provide students options to become more involved with learning, implementing technology and being as creative as possible.

Delicious.com
My experience with Delicious.com was not as easy I would have liked. Logging into the site was easy but I did not feel comfortable with the site first off. It had to many ads along the side and seemed difficult to add the link to the sites. It took a while for me to figure out how to add links of my most frequented web sites, but after I logged out and then back in I could see the links. Overall, I do believe this is a beneficial site that could be used in a educational/learning environment. I really like the networking tool that is offered for teachers to have access to multiple sites. Overall it is good, but I need more training with this site to feel comfortable.

Google Docs
I had no problem using the Google Docs platform. It was just like using Microsoft Office which I am very familiar. I used the Microsoft Suite in my classrooms daily so after logging in and seeing so many similarities between the two, it was very easy to use. I can definitely see how using this platform could make saving work so much easier. Some of the issues of not having time to complete a document, assignment or project in class could allow the students the time outside of class no matter where they are to complete the work and still receive credit for it. I cannot wait to implement the use of this new technology into my classroom.

Feedly
Using Feedly for the first time was a nice experience. When I went to the main page to sign up, the Feedly site asked me if I would authorized access for Feedly to use my log in information and profile. I agreed and it automatically logged me in using my Gmail profile that I was already currently logged into. This saved me about 2 to 3 minutes of having to create another log in, so I am now officially a fan. I also found the user interface very easy to view and use. It was very clean, and did not have any random ads all over the place which usually makes viewing webpages and content a gruesome process. I was able to search and find some of the websites and blogs that I frequently visit. I did not know that this existed but now that I do, I see how much of a time saver it is. I have several websites that I susbscribe to and now this makes it easier to track, manage, and read them all.

Wikispaces
Once again, I had no problem with logging in and setting up my profile. Learning how to maneuver around in the site was a bit tedious for me. I had to continue "playing" around on the page and clicking things to discover how to edit. Overall, I believe that Wikispaces can be used in my classroom to help utilize the collaboration between students as well as monitor student discussions. The option of setting up projects would really work well for me also. I believe my students would really enjoy and learn alot from me implementing this type of technology in my classroom. Not to mention, being able to monitor the engagement of each student is phenomenal!

Photopeach
Logging into Photopeach was very easy. I was able to set up my account in a matter of less than 1 minute. Also, uploading photos was relatively easy and adding the text and music. I think this would be a useful tool to implement into my classroom. The students would love to tell a story digitally about their experiences and how they relate to learning in the classroom. It is also very appealing to look at, not too busy with ads and no clutter on the page.
Voki
Voki is a great software to use in the classroom. It is very easy to log in and create an avatar. I could easily implement this technology in the classroom for a classroom blog that includes help with homework for those needed assistance. I wish there were more options available without having to pay a fee for the subscription. Overall, it seems like it would be fun to use and implement to keep the students interested and student engagement high.

I love the design of your site. I've read a number of posts saying the same thing about Delicious. I really loved it, and it is because I used multiple computers (home, school, and the occasional odd place). With Delicious, you have your Favorites/Bookmarks wherever you go, whatever computer you use, and whatever browser you're using. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBest page I have seen by far. Love the feel of how this page is. If the you were new to this, I cannot tell. I will use this as a reference point to students this year. Thanks for creation.
